Kaija works at the Coalition for the Education and Engagement function. She focuses on developing and supporting our capacity-building program and works closely with the Coalition organisations, Endorsement Partners, Trainers’ Community, and Hubs.
Kaija has a background in environmental sciences and urban studies. She has worked with urban sustainability issues with Nordic cities, municipalities and other stakeholders. Previously, she worked at the think tank Demos Helsinki, focusing on the environment and fair (urban) sustainability transformations.
She holds an MSc. in Urban Studies from the 4CITIES program of six European universities and a BSc. in Environmental Sciences with a focus on Environmental Change and Policy from the University of Helsinki. She also has a BA in Community Education.
Outside work, Kaija cruises on her narrowboat on the London waterways and escapes the city for outdoor adventures whenever possible.
