CDP Course – Natural Capital for Business Decision Making: On the Path to Net Zero and Nature Positive
This 12-hour course equips professionals to integrate natural capital into business decision-making using the ACT-D Framework — Assess, Commit, Transform, Disclose. Learners explore how businesses impact and depend on biodiversity, air quality, greenhouse gases, water, and land, and gain practical tools to manage these factors across operations, strategy, and finance and drive change within their organizations. Capitals Coalition and Social Value International-accredited trainers deliver the course.
Train The Trainer
Despite growing awareness, many organizations remain in the early stages of understanding and implementing capitals structure into their practices.
To address this gap, Capitals Coalition has developed a Train-the-Trainer Program in partnership with Social Value International (SVI). This 20-hour course is designed for seasoned professionals — consultants, trainers, and sustainability practitioners — who are passionate about advancing natural capital education and contributing to global efforts to preserve the natural world. Accredited trainers become part of a global Trainers’ Community, an active and supportive network that meets quarterly and benefits from Continuing Professional Development sessions delivered by SVI and Capitals Coalition on the latest developments in the field.
The content of the program is currently delivered by Social Value International, with support from experts across the Coalition.
Training Courses on Coursera
We offer two self-paced online courses on Coursera, open to businesses, financial institutions, and organizations to enroll in and complete at their own pace. Together, they provide a comprehensive introduction to the capitals — natural, social, human, and produced — and to undertaking a capitals assessment, with one course focused on natural capital, “Valuing Nature and People to Inform Decision-making”, and the other, Transforming Business: Valuing Social & Human Capital” on social and human capital. While open to all, they are especially relevant for those working in strategy, risk management, finance, procurement, accountancy, auditing, human resources, and sustainability.
