Martin leads the Coalition’s work on policy and changing the rules of the game, to help deliver the strategy. He oversees the Coalition’s work on development and implementation of technical guidance for valuation.
Previous to working at the Coalition, Martin worked for more than 30 years as a policymaker for the Netherlands’ government in several policy domains (national and international), including environmental, nature, and green growth. In that capacity, Martin initiated and led the global Government Dialogue on Natural Capital.
Martin is one of the founders of Business for Nature and a member of their leadership team. He also sits on the Board of the Platform Biodiversity Accounting Financials (PBAF).
He is excited about integrating four capitals into decision-making, which is complex yet key to creating a more sustainable world.
