Tom is part of the Technical team at the Coalition, where he focuses on human and social capital as part of an integrated capitals approach, utilizing systems thinking. He is an ecological economist with a background in valuation and in applying natural capital approaches in Scotland.
He is passionate about ensuring that all types of value are included in decision-making processes in order to create outcomes that are beneficial to business, society and most importantly the planet and that people’s ability to do so is open and accessible. Tom believes that economics can be a force for good to create solutions that benefit society and nature.
Outside of the Coalition, you can find Tom running, cycling or hiking around Scotland and Europe.
