Cherie Nursalim is Vice Chairperson of Giti Group, a diversified group with real estate development, manufacturing and consumer lifestyle presence partnering with the world’s renowned brands throughout the Asia Pacific region. She is also a special advisor in the government of the Republic of Indonesia.
Ms Nursalim is the Vice Chairperson of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), serves on the ICC Academy and Research boards. She is a board member of Publicis Groupe, IMAGINE, the Business and Sustainable Development Commission Global Blended Finance Taskforce, the Partnering for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 (P4G) and the Women’s World Banking Southeast Asia Advisory Council.
She chairs the Southeast Asia Chapter of the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network, and the Tsinghua University Southeast Asia Center both to be based in Kura Kura Bali. Ms Nursalim has championed the United in Diversity Foundation and the Tri Hita Karana Forum with global partners. She is developer of Kura Kura Bali, an island project that aims to respect the Balinese Tri Hita Karana philosophy of happiness aligned with harmonies of people, planet and spirit.
Ms Nursalim serves on the Asia and International Advisory Boards for MIT Sloan School of Management and Columbia University respectively and the advisory board of the Research Center for Climate Change for University of Indonesia. She also serves as a board member of the Singapore Science Center, the World Green Building Council, and the Global and Asia Philanthropic Circle. She also joined the UN Global Compact Platform for Action and the Friends of the Oceans global initiative advisory council.
Cherie Nursalim is a recipient of the Ministry of National Development award from the Singapore Government and Baiyulan Award from the Shanghai Government. Ms Nursalim initiated initiatives for HIV AIDS awareness in Indonesia for GT organization which won awards from Indonesian government UNAIDS and International Labor Organization. She was once featured among Forbes’ 48 heroes of philanthropy.
Ms Nursalim receives her Bachelor in Engineering Science and Economics from Oxford University, her Master in Business Administration from Columbia Business School, and is an alumnus of Harvard Kennedy School World Economic Forum Young Global Leader. She has earlier worked as a research associate at the Harvard Business School. Ms Nursalim published an award‐winning book on the world famous architect and was co‐author in the book, Indonesia Matters, published by the World Economic Forum.
