Conor Kehoe Conor is the outgoing Chair the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) – an advisory board of 70 organisations dedicated to improving ‘ESG’ reporting. Elected to the Chair in May 2020 with a desire to rationalise the sector, he and colleagues announced the merger of Integrated Reporting with SASB to form the Value Reporting Foundation (VRF) (Nov 2020).
A year later (Nov 2021) he and colleagues announced the merger of the VRF (where he was a board member) with the IFRS’s new Intl Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) at COP26 – this merger was finalised on Aug 1 2022.
Conor was a member of the 2021 G7 Impact Taskforce which called for Impact Accounting in three years.
He is a director of two organisations whose aim is to unify and advance ‘impact coefficient’s’ that translate Sustainability/Impact KPIs into monetary values – a key recommendation of the G7 taskforce. (IFVI, Value Commission).
He is a Special Advisor at McKinsey where he founded and co-convenes McKinsey’s Board Intelligence Forum for large company chairpersons/non-executive directors and is an Advisory Board member of Blackrock’s private equity activity.
Previously, he co-founded McKinsey’s Private Equity Industry Practice where took a special interest in how PE firms interact with portfolio companies to create value. He also co-founded McKinsey New Ventures and was part of the founding team of Focusing Capital on the Long term in 2013 (flct.org). Originally a software engineer, he also led McKinsey’s Tech and Telecom Practice in Europe. He advises a small number of software-based growth stage companies and PE firms incorporating Impact into their investing and portfolio management approach.
He is an adjunct lecturer at Tsinghua University in Beijing and, recently, he has refreshed his old software engineering skills – completing Stanford’s Machine Learning Course.
