Stephanie has decades of experience in social issue management, measurement, and reporting; community investment and social value. Her expertise has helped hundreds of clients to assess the value of investment in community and across society, which has led to improved outcomes, enhanced reporting, and a broadened understanding of the concepts of social and environmental value creation.
Her clients and partners include for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. Stephanie’s work supports the community and social impact vision of many businesses operating across a diversity of ownership structures. She has worked in industries that include telecommunications, banking, energy, pipelines, mining, cooperatives, and credit unions. Social impact areas that have been the focal point of her work include social enterprise, education, health, entrepreneurship, crime prevention, social procurement, apprenticeships and job creation, construction, financial literacy, local economic development, and mental and physical health, among many others.
In 2005, Stephanie launched, and continues to facilitate, the LBG (London Benchmarking Group) Canada network: Canadian companies that act to strengthen society through voluntary community investments. Through her leadership, LBG Canada is the champion of a standard definition of corporate community investment as a key part of the ‘S’ in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) reporting and disclosure.
As Chair of Social Value Canada (SVC), Stephanie is empowering a growing movement of professionals to share the true value of their organizations’ social and environmental actions. SVC members are committed to changing the way the world accounts for value by changing the way organizations report their actions.
Stephanie is a graduate of Trent University and with an MBA from London Business School (UK). In addition to her leadership in the Canadian social value movement, she has represented Social Value Canada on the Social Value International Board since 2012. SiMPACT was founded in Calgary, Alberta, in 2004, where it is headquartered. Stephanie is currently based in Toronto with her husband, son, and the SiMPACT mascot: Metric the dog.
